Other FAQs
1. Is Sea Buckthorn acidic or alkaline?
Acidic. Sea Buckthorn juice had pH values around 2.5 units and ORP higher than 220 mV, being the most acidic extract of the studied plant material.
2. Which Sea Buckthorn is best?
Tibetan Sea Buckthorn has the highest levels of nutrients and that's why we like it. It's native to the Himalayan Plateau, and that's where our crops are grown.
3. How long does Sea Buckthorn oil last?
Stored somewhere cool, dark, and dry, Sea Buckthorn fruit oil should last up to two years. It is considered more shelf stable than Sea Buckthorn seed oil due to the nature of the fatty acid composition. Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil is rich in palmitoleic acid (omega 7), which makes it very unique among vegetable oils.
4. How does one take Sea Buckthorn?
It depends on which benefits appeal to you most. At Ayurie, we currently make four different Sea Buckthorn products, which we recommend for slightly different results.
We make Sea Buckthorn powder which is simply crushed, dried Sea Buckthorn berries, with the seeds removed. It is convenient and easy to use. You can add a spoonful of Sea Buckthorn powder to just about anything, from breakfast bowls to baking, so it’s probably the easiest way to get some Sea Buckthorn into your diet.
If you would like to use Sea Buckthorn for its incredible quantities of nutrients and Omega 7, you can take it in the form of capsules. One or two every day.
For skin care needs, we currently offer Sea Buckthorn soaps. Other cosmetic products like Facewash, soap, and masks are planned to be launched soon.
Finally, we make Sea Buckthorn berry oil. The oil is rich in beta-carotene and omega-7, which are fabulous for your skin, eyes and mucous membranes. You can take it neat, drizzle it over yoghurt or porridge, or dilute it in a carrier oil and apply it directly to your skin.
Lots of people also love using Sea Buckthorn oil / powder / pulp in baking or cocktail making, as it’s a fantastic flavour. We are also soon launching a 120ml shot, with Ginger and Turmeric for additional benefits, to make it easy to start your mornings with it, or get a boost in the middle of your day.
